A contractor with integrity and years of experience.
A contractor has a history. Jim remembers telling a parent at a young age he wanted to be a carpenter and build houses like his great-grandfather, who had a magnificent wood shop, at least so it seemed to this young man. Jim became a carpenter at age twenty while still in college and started building houses four years later. When Jim came to Harrisonburg he was already an experienced carpenter and cabinet builder. Upon completing his Bachelor’s degree at EMU, he felt it was time to strike out on his own in order to serve the community and provide for his family. In 1988 he established Venture Builders with a partner. Jim took over as sole owner of the business in 1991 and runs the business to this day.
The values of honesty, fairness, and hard work Jim learned growing up define his character. His leadership skills developed doing volunteer work and running a business serve him and the community well as he leads the team at Venture Builders in giving value in sustainable and accessible construction. Jim gives back to the community by serving as chairman of the Aging in Place Business Roundtable of the H/R Chamber of Commerce, and by serving on the board of Rebuilding Together. He is a past president of a local BNI chapter. He has earned numerous certifications with the National Association of Home Builders and is a member of the Shenandoah Valley Builders Association.
Jim is a Certified Graduate Remodeler, a Certified Graduate Builder, and a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist with The National Association of Home Builders. He is a contractor who will make it happen for you.
Estimator and Project Manager
Estimator and project manager Jeremy Blosser started his construction career at a young age always interested in building and fixing things and digging in the dirt. That trend continues today as he still enjoys fixing dated bathrooms and building homes for a sustainable future. In 1995 he began working for a local excavating company where he learned about blueprints, digging footers, and installing utilities. In 2000 just before Jeremy married Jim’s oldest daughter Trisha he left the excavating company to start his first adventure in remodeling and building with Venture Builders Inc. Jeremy started his own remodeling companies in both Cooperstown, NY and Abingdon, VA. As time went on his family grew, the drive to be closer to family and return to the Valley was very strong. So in the spring of 2008 Jeremy rejoined Venture Builders as estimator and production manager. He is happy to be back in the beautiful Valley that he calls home. He has an extensive background in remodeling, construction, and excavation.
Jeremy is a Certified Green Professional and is Earthcraft Certified. He has a passion for sustainability, and living green. He is a member of the Shenandoah Valley Builders Association where he serves as Vice President and Chairman of the Membership Committee.
